Competition: Monterey Bay Regional
Team 5817 is proud to announce that the Monterey Bay Regional was a success for our team!
Joining 35 other teams from across the globe, our team traveled to Monterey, CA, to compete in the FIRST Robotics Charged Up competition. Across 13 matches, our team ranked in 17th place and were selected as the first pick of Alliance 7. Together with Team 8048 (East Palo Alto Churrobots) and Team 5171 (Deus Ex Machina), making it to the second round of eliminations.
We also won the Industrial Design Award, sponsored by General Motors. Our team’s simple, efficient, and reliable design paired with our students’ ability to reiterate the robot between competitions earned us this honor.
Though this may mark the end of our competition season, we are proud of our students and all they have accomplished. Our team has developed significantly these last few months, and it’s reflected in our successes at the Central Valley Regional and Monterey Bay Regional. While we might not be at the World Championships this year, our shop will stay open for students wanting to develop their skills in engineering, preparing us for an even better season in 2024.
