Uni-Rex Co-Hosts FIRST Lego League Qualifier at Alta Sierra

Today, Uni-Rex proudly co-hosted the Central Valley FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Qualifier at Alta Sierra Intermediate School with fellow FRC team, Buchanan Bird Brains (Team 1671).

FLL is a youth program designed to introduce children grades K-8 to the fundamentals of science and technology. This year, students were challenged with creating a motorized LEGO invention that could complete a variety of tasks with minimal human control.

More than a dozen Uni-Rex students volunteered to coordinate the event, serve as judges, and provide technical assistance to the young engineers. We also performed a live demonstration of our 2023 competition robot, offering these students a glimpse into the opportunities that await them within the greater FIRST program.

The Qualifier was an outstanding success, drawing over 200 students from 36 different elementary schools. This event served as an integral opportunity to educate the Central Valley’s youth on engineering principles, and we are glad to have helped make it possible.
