2022-2023 Season Kickoff

This morning, our students gathered to watch the kickoff of the 2023 FIRST Robotics Competition season. This year’s game, presented by Haas, is titled Charged Up.

Following in suit with FIRST’s other 2023 competitions (Superpowered & Powerplay), Charged Up focuses on energy and sustainability. Teams compete to “charge up” their grids by strategically placing cones and cubes on their side of the field. Success in this game demands careful planning and coordination to navigate the field, secure game elements, and position them accurately. The game culminates in a race to balance atop your “Charging Station” along with two other teammates.

As soon as the game details were released, our students dove into the rulebook, assigned responsibilities, and began brainstorming designs for this year’s robot. With our workshop back in full swing, we eagerly anticipate the challenges and opportunities this season will bring!
